Logs on the Pile 81, 82, 83, 84, 85 from Virtual Quilter

Interesting.

Wow!

I like the one above, especially the curves in the outer edge!

Love the curves again.

Interesting.

Hard to pick a favourite, but the middle and right of the top row are high on the list!

More Log Cabin designs mid week, next week.

Log Cabin Hideaway 11, 12, 13, 14, 15 from Virtual Quilter

A log cabin hideaway would be a nice place to be when the temperature goes up to 35 plus. I guess I will have to enjoy the air conditioner in town..

First two designs are interesting.

I am always amazed at how many designs can be found to use Log Cabin blocks.

This project file has over 250 designs, and it grows a little bit every time I open it, helped by the 50 plus variations of the Log Cabin block, including Thick and Thin varieties.

I love the gentle curves in the last design for today.

More Log Cabin ...

Logs on Point + 101, 102, 103, 104, 105 from Virtual Quilter

Wednesday already … it is going to be a short week, but someone I spoke to yesterday thought it was Friday, so her week is shorter than mine!

I liked the Curved Log Cabin blocks used in the centre of the borders of the first design, but i like the second design with Log Cabin blocks on point around the second design, because it looks more orderly.

Straight border again, but I think this one would look better with those two Curved Log Cabin blocks in the borders.

Yes, I think it looks much better … how about you?

Something totally different ...

Logs on Point 66, 67, 68, 69, 70 from Virtual Quilter

Interesting.

Love the second one!

The next one is neat and tidy.

The one above morphed into a Fishing Cabin project file.

The last design for this week’s mid week retreat is interesting … I am going to have a play to see what I can add to the project file for future posts.

Logs OP + 21, 22, 23, 24, 25 from Virtual Quilter

Interesting start to today’s collection of Log Cabin designs.

In this project file I have tried to keep designs in the order I saved them, so that teh changes are generally small so that you can see the progression I have found each time I have asked myself my favourite question … what if I change it a little bit here … and there.

I am liking this one more as I make changes.

I like the central design but would like to see it with more dark blocks around it.

Looks great surrounded by dark!

Log Cabin Hideaway 6, 7, 8, 9, 10 from Virtual Quilter

Middle of another week, and at the rate life is speeding up, tomorrow could well be the middle of next week.

The first design for today is interesting.

I like the second.

Another interesting one.

Lots of interesting things happen when blocks are turned on point.

Another interesting one.

Saved my favourite for the day until last.

That is all for this week’s mini midweek retreat, but there will be another one next week, no matter how quickly that arrives!

Logs on the Pile 66, 67, 68, 69, 70 from Virtual Quilter

Middle of the week, and a collection of Log Cabin quilt designs to look at during a short break from the rest of the world.

I like the first one, not so keen on the second, but thought it was too interesting to hit the delete button.

The middle design for the mid week post … and the least I could say about it is wow! that is interesting.

Back to an almost boring design by comparison to the one in the middle, but I like it, and love the waving line created by Curved Log Cabin blocks.

The last is ...

Inside the Logs 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 from Virtual Quilter

I could not resist playing with the combination of Log Cabin border around applique blocks after seeing the possibility yesterday while picking designs for the mid week Log Cabin retreat.

So today here is an extra opportunity to have a short break, but only the walls are up in these Log Cabin designs.

In the first one the corners of the border looked a bit blunt, so introduced Courthouse Steps for the corners.

What if I change the colour of some of the background blocks? That could work.

This new project file has opened up a whole new lot of ...
